About Dr. Cortese

Craig Cortese, DPM, FACFAS, is a podiatrist at Cortese Foot & Ankle Clinic serving Bloomington, IL, Normal, IL, Pontiac IL, and Clinton, IL.

Dr. Cortese earned his undergraduate degree in industrial hygiene and health physics from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He then obtained his medical degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Afterward, he completed a three-year medical surgical program at the University of Utah Medical Center VA Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. During his residency, he completed hands-on surgical training in podiatric and orthopedic surgery.

Committed to his field, Dr. Cortese has completed in-depth research regarding diabetic foot infections as well as foot pain associated with pregnancy and postpartum. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, Illinois Podiatric Medical Association, and American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

He is also the chief of podiatry at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Illinois, and is certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, advanced cardiac life support, and extracorporeal shockwave therapy.

Dr. Cortese has two children – a son and a daughter. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, skiing, and mountain biking.
